Popular sushi franchise chain, Yo! Sushi, has announced a sales increase of 2.1% from their UK division. The company said that their turnover increased from £81.6 million in 2016 to £83.3 million this year. The announcement was made amongst international financial results for the restaurant chain which saw global increases, with a 5.5% rise in like-for-like sales last year.
Yo! Sushi was bought in 2015 by Mayfair Equity Partners who have since expressed their desire to position the brand for growth. Currently, Yo! Sushi has 71 outlets in the UK - 15 of them are franchise outlets. The chain has already opened 3 new outlets this year alone and continues to expand across the UK.
The CEO for Yo! Sushi, Robin Rowland, said: “FY 2016 was transformational for YO! Following a full strategic review with our new owners, Mayfair, we’ve reset the business to best position it for long term future growth. This has been reflected in 5.5%+ like-for-like sales growth for the last 12 consecutive months. We now have the people and product to take the business forward, and 2017 will be about taking advantage of the significant opportunities that now exist for the brand.”
