Sophie Cole, writer
Peel Land and Property Group have handed over a 25-year lease to Travelodge from its previous occupants Holiday Inn Express. The new Travelodge Liverpool John Lennon Airport features 100 bedrooms, a café and three meeting rooms and the transformation is expected to be complete by the end of the year. Travelodge is the budget group’s number 549th hotel and its 14th property in Merseyside. The owner and operator of the Holiday Inn Express, Peel Land and Property Group, is funding the changeover of the hotel to the Travelodge brand under a franchise agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group.
“The local economy is growing at pace and with increasing visitor numbers to the area, there is a big shortage of good quality accommodation at a great value price. With our new airport hotel, we are offering unbeatable value at all the key business and leisure points across the city.” Says Tony O’Brien, property director of Travelodge.
