From seated fitness classes to creative arts sessions and social mornings with games, the initiative is all about helping people stay active, connected and confident in their everyday lives.
Helping People Thrive – Not Just Get By
Kam Gill, Managing Director of Walfinch Oxfordshire, says the activities are part of a wider commitment to providing more than just care.
“We want everyone to have Time to Thrive, especially those who find it difficult to get out and about. These sessions are free and open to everyone, not just our clients.”
Weekly sessions are already running in:
- Ducklington – seated exercise (Monday mornings)
- East Hanney – seated exercise (Monday afternoons)
- Uffington – seated exercise (Thursday mornings), arts & crafts (Wednesday mornings)
- Witney – arts, crafts and board games (Tuesday mornings)
Each session includes light refreshments and a warm welcome—making them ideal for anyone looking to stay active and meet new people.
Gentle Exercise That Supports Independence
The seated exercise classes are led by Oliver Halls from Better Days Fitness. They focus on building strength, balance and mobility through simple movements—helping reduce the risk of falls and maintain independence at home.
“People enjoy the exercises, and it’s amazing to see the difference it makes,” says Oliver. “They stand taller and move more confidently.”
Social Care with a Personal Touch
The sessions are overseen by Activities Organiser and Walfinch carer Hannah Tomlin, who works closely with clients and community members alike.
“It’s about making everyday life easier,” she says. “Whether it’s getting out of a chair, reaching for a shelf or just feeling steady on your feet—these small improvements make a big difference.”
A Fresh Approach to Home Care in Oxfordshire
Walfinch Oxfordshire’s community sessions reflect the brand’s mission to redefine the role of home care—moving beyond simply helping people manage day-to-day tasks. Instead, the focus is on improving lives in a meaningful way, supporting physical health, mental wellbeing and social connection. This approach is designed to benefit not only Walfinch clients, but the wider community too.
