Driver Hire Grimsby Up For Award

Driver Hire’s Grimsby and Scunthorpe office has been nominated for a business award, and the results will be in tomorrow.
The transport and logistics recruitment firm in Grimsby and Scunthorpe has been put forward to win the Excellence in the Community Business Award, organised by the Hull & Northern Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce. Franchisees Michael and Jayne O’Flynn, who run the office, are delighted to have reached the finals for the second year running. The pair will find out if they have managed to scoop the top prize tomorrow at a gala evening at the Grimsby Auditorium.
Over the past few years, Michael and Jayne have organised a number of fund-raisers and sponsored community events, including a golf day that raised £5,500. They are committed to a children’s charity, ‘When you wish upon a star’ and a local school, Havelock Academy. The franchisees work hard to raise funds to support both organisations and are looking forward to raising even more money for them. Jayne is also the current WWW Grimsby Business Woman of the Year thanks to her inspirational talks at the school. It is this continued support to the local community that impressed the judges, making them well deserved of a place in the final.
Jayne is delighted to have been nominated. She says, “community engagement is an important element of our business. It’s nice to be able to help where we can and have a positive impact. So, win or lose, this nomination is a pleasing recognition of the hard work we put into our community programme”.
Whatever happens at the awards, Michael and Jayne will continue in their efforts to support the local community. They are hoping to raise £10,000 at this year’s golf event and will be looking for more ways to help the students at Havelock Academy.
