The past financial year was record breaking for Driver Hire thanks to a big increase in turnover.

Everyone at Driver Hire had a huge smile on their face as the final figures for the year were released. The transport recruitment franchise saw turnover increase by £8million between March 2017 and March 2018, taking it to a total of £108.5million for the year.

These year-end figures are record breaking for Driver Hire, which is the fifth year that they have beaten the previous year.

There are suggestions that a busy Christmas helped Driver Hire to enjoy such a huge success story, as turnover was up 14% compared to December in 2016. The promotion of Michael Dawson, who has been with the firm since 1996, to a newly-created role of Finance Director of the Logistics Division may also have helped the company’s finances grow.

Driver Hire’s Chief Executive, Chris Chidley, explains why the franchise is experiencing such strong year- on-year growth, “as this strong set of figures shows, not only do we retain customers; we’re doing more business with them”. He goes on to say, “Driver Hire’s success is built on quality, so I think it’s important to recognise that we are combining record trading with consistently high standards of service to customers and candidates alike, as shown by our survey results”.

This commitment to quality has enabled Driver Hire to grow from a single company in West Yorkshire to a nationwide franchise with offices across the country, all the way from Inverness to Cornwall.

It has also branched overseas to the other side of the world, boasting five offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, Australia. The international wing to the business has also seen a record year, with turnover at nearly £12million.

Driver Hire is the largest UK transport recruitment franchise that helps drivers find jobs and training around the UK. It has been in business since 1987 and provides cover for 4,200 shifts per week, helping companies keep moving forward with a reliable workforce.
