Wolf brings its fusion cuisine to Manchester

Wolf Italian is the latest addition to Manchester Arndale’s £11m Halle Place food hall.
Mexican and Italian? Together?! Sounds like it could be a strange combination. You might not think the two cuisines go hand in hand, but Wolf Italian is seeking to challenge that as it brings its fusion street food to the people of Manchester.
With it’s twist on the Italian classic piada, which is a traditional Italian flatbread folded and filled with cured meats and cheeses, the restaurant franchise is bringing a fresh take on Italian food to the UK. Whereas the piada would normally be eaten as it is, Wolf is providing an international twist by rolling it around fillings such as Italian pulled pork or garlic rosemary steak.
Tim Entwistle, Managing Director of Wolf, explained where the Mexican comparisons come in.
“The easiest way to describe it is like an Italian burrito, but instead of Mexican flavours we have things like lemon and garlic chicken, spicy Italian sausage and hot sauces like pomodoro, diavolo and parmesan alfredo - and instead of rice we fill it with spaghetti.”
For diners looking to stick to something more traditional, they can mix and match the same delicious toppings in pasta or salad bowls or pop them onto freshly-baked focaccia.
Entwistle said how thrilled he was to be bringing the franchise to Manchester, given that it’s the region he grew up in.
“It’s mega popular in London and we’re doing well in all the sites; it’s something new. We hope the people of Manchester will take to it too - I’m sure they will.”
With its delicious, freshly prepared range of Italian classics and innovative new options, Wolf is mixing up one of the UK’s favourite cuisines with its exciting, mouth-watering menu.
