Water Babies has picked up two nominations for the first awards ceremony celebrating pregnancy and child services in Norfolk
North Norfolk is gearing up to host its first ever pregnancy, baby and child awards, which will award recognition and prizes to the best businesses in the area that provide services for expectant mothers and their offspring.
Water Babies has picked up three nominations for the awards, getting the nod for its classes for 0-6 months, 6-18 months and 18 months – 4 years. It faces stiff competition in each category, but simply getting recognised is an achievement its Norfolk branch is extremely proud of. It will discover if it has scooped any prizes during the ceremony on the 3rd of December.
The baby franchise, which teaches babies how to swim right from birth, is one of the largest businesses to be recognised and a spokesperson for the awards explained why they felt it was important to highlight successful companies that cater for mothers and babies.
“It’s an industry which doesn’t really get spoken about enough, especially antenatal services and newborn focused businesses, so the awards, and our work with our shows and magazines, are hopefully reaching parents-to-be and parents in the area and showing them what they can get up to with their family.”
Since it was founded in 2002 by parents who wanted a better way to teach babies and young children how to swim, Water Babies has grown rapidly. The franchise has been working with the UK’s national swimming governing body, Swim England, since 2011 to ensure that its classes are both safe and enjoyable when delivered by its skilled swimming teachers. Water Babies delivers its classes to more than 50,000 children every single week, allowing them to gain potentially lifesaving confidence in the water from a very early age.
