Water Babies shares stories of swimming success to celebrate National Baby Swimming Week.

Water Babies shared the story of little Hazel Clancy from Limerick, Ireland, to promote its annual celebration of the benefits of getting babies into the pool.

The 13-month old wasn’t a fan of baths or even the feeling of water on her skin, but her father Tony has explained how attending her local Water Babies class completely changed her attitude. After taking her to a taster class of the baby franchise in April, Tony was shocked to discover that Hazel really enjoyed swimming and being around other little ones.

“We attended a Water Babies taster class in Limerick last April and it was amazing. Straight from the off, she loved it. The songs, the other babies and the interaction.”

Tony and Hazel’s mother were so impressed that they signed her up to join regular Water Babies classes and said that her progress has really astounded them.

“We signed her up as soon as we got home, and now we’re delighted to see how far she has come in such a short time. Hazel’s word association is excellent, and I love to see her holding on at the side of the pool with no help from me. The second I start saying “hold on” her hands just go out – even when we’re shopping and she’s sitting in the trolley I say it and she just does it.”

Tony also added that it was lovely to experience time with Hazel every week and to see her having so much fun during the classes.

“Water Babies is the first thing I’ve have done with her on my own in my Daddy role and I really look forward to our time in the pool every week. It’s just amazing to see her little face light up when we’re going into the pool.”

The franchise shared the story to celebrate its partnership with National Baby Swimming Week, which runs annually from the 14th-20th of October and promotes the mental and physical benefits of getting babies in the pool.
