TruGreen Releases Mosquito Data

Here are the US cities most affected by mosquitoes, courtesy of research by TruGreen.

An investigation by the lawn care franchise TruGreen has revealed that New York is the US city with the highest population of mosquitoes. The data is based upon on the amount of TruGreen anti-mosquito products sold in the area.

Coming in just behind New York was Chicago, another city that has its residents swatting away at the pesky insects. Atlanta, Boston and Dallas came in at 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively to complete the top five.

“Mosquitoes are one of the most prevalent pests bothering families during the spring – and summer – season, preventing them from truly enjoying the outdoors without the worry of bites and diseases," said John Bell, Regional Technical Manager at TruGreen.

“At TruGreen, we know protecting loved ones from pestilent bloodsuckers is a priority for families. That is why for the first time we are releasing an expanded list of 15 US cities most bothered by mosquitoes”.

The research is founded on data that was accumulated across all US cities during 2018. With many US states heading into peak mosquito season this May, TruGreen has reminded Americans of the importance of being prepared.
