Staff from estate agents Reeds Rains turned into superheroes for the day in order to raise money for Cash for Kids.
Staff from the Crook branch of estate agents went for a walk recently. So far, or ordinary. What made this walk different was the fact the five staff members were dressed up as their favourite superheroes.
The staff members walked ten miles from Reed Rains’ Crook branch to its branch in Durham in order to raise money for the North-East-based charity Cash for Kids. The charity operates across 22 different locations across the UK and aims to “channel the caring of the local community into the welfare of their own youngsters”.
The charity raises millions of pounds for local children and young people who have been the victims of abuse or neglect. The Reeds Rains employees Nickie Comby, Hannah Young, Sarah Stokell, Paige Hutton and Emma Curtin hope to raise £700 for the organisation through their superhero walk.
The company has a long-standing relationship with the charity as Mrs Comby explains:
“Reeds Rains are official sponsors of Cash for Kids and last year as a company we raised more than £80,000. It’s such a worthwhile cause as it is for disadvantaged children. It’s also based in the North-East so the money raised will help children in our area.”
Reeds Rains is one of the largest estate agencies in the UK and is a subsidiary of LSL Property Services. The company was founded in 1868 by Samuel Rains, but had adopted its current moniker by 1976. The company currently has 300 successful branches across Europe and was awarded prizes as the ‘national estate agency of the year’ and ‘financial services estate agency of the year’ in 2016.
