Photography for Little People franchisee inspires women
Sophie Cole, writer
A Photography for Little People franchisee shared her story of starting her own photography business to inspire other women.
In an interview with Female Franchise, Jules Milton said how she is now her own boss alongside her work in a public health job, capturing precious images of babies and their families. After a health scare a few years back, she decided to look for a profession that would be less demanding and take up less time, yet still be enjoyable and fulfilling. Milton also sought something she could do on the side, and although she loved working with women and babies in her public health role, a colleague told her about franchising.
Combining her love of photography that had been forgotten since her college years and her passion for working with women and their babies, Milton quickly set up her own Photography for Little People franchise. Although her business is still very much a part-time venture for Milton, she explained how the help she received from the franchise proved invaluable to ensuring the initial success she has enjoyed.
"Your main marketing Facebook page and the Photography for Little People webpage are managed by [the] franchise and once you are comfortable with Facebook it is then handed to you to manage and promote yourself locally. Business training continues with support from Head Office and mentoring. Once this is complete, you have a mentor assigned to you who helps with business queries, has practical advice to help with marketing and also offers advice on managing clients, photoshoots and to review images and support with photography."
Milton added that she looks forward to reducing her hours at her job even more as business takes off, with the hope that her Photography for Little People business will eventually become her full-time role.
The photography franchise was founded in 2005 and has blossomed into the UK’s leading family fine art mobile portrait studio franchise.
