American pizza franchise giant, Papa John’s, has plans for a new outlet in Bridgwater, Somerset. The planning application includes full design details including signage, site plan and window panels. The new outlet would be the second in the county adding to the existing site in Taunton.

The rapid expansion follows announcements from existing franchisees, Clif Roberson and John O’Brien who are childhood friends, that they are opening their sixth outlet within 18 months.

Mr O’Brien said: “We opened our first store in Cwmbran at the end of 2015 and sales quickly added up to way higher than our expectations! Papa John’s TV advertising campaign has been great to raise awareness and now we have opened in Merthyr Tydfil in an amazing high-street location, right on the main square. The huge elevated decking and seating area is fabulous and has been getting top marks from customers already!”
