Nationwide Cleaners has been demonstrating the flexibility of its business model, after one of its London franchisees explained how they have a fantastic manager who works from the Philippines.
Gilyn, who is the manager of a London based branch of the domestic cleaning franchise, has been praised by the franchisee for the fantastic job she does. Despite the fact that she’s almost 7,000 miles away from the UK, her boss has utilised the flexible nature of the Nationwide Cleaners business model so that Gilyn is still able to keep things running remotely.
Her duties include dealing with clients on the phone and via email, booking their cleaning appointments with one of the franchise’s friendly cleaners and making sure they’re satisfied with everything. Gilyn also manages the branch’s staff, ensuring their schedules are organised and offering support and advice whenever they need it. Despite not even living in the UK, Gilyn has mastered the English language and her positive attitude and commitment to her work make her an asset to the branch.
By keeping in regular contact with Gilyn, the franchisee is able to check how things are going with the business and discuss any problems. He’s also able to monitor the financial side of the business and under Gilyn’s expert management, he’s seen his business continue to grow throughout the last few years.
As well as having an excellent member of staff who keeps the business under control, employing Gilyn remotely makes financial sense too. With the cost of living in the Philippines much lower than the UK in general (especially the extortionately high rents and living costs of London), the franchisee is able to pay Gilyn a generous salary while also cutting costs for himself and less financial output means the potential for a much more profitable business. Gilyn is also known for her fantastic work ethic and incredible politeness that is typical of Filipino people.
