Minster Cleaning’s MD describes the business’s 2020 experience

Minster Cleaning’s Managing Director Mike Parker has spoken about the franchise’s response to the pandemic and the support it’s offering its franchisees.

As cleanliness has become vitally important in the past year, Minster Cleaning has been able to take advantage of a rise in demand for its services.

Mike explained,

“Cleaning has never been more important and Minster’s expertise in infection control has proved to be a valuable asset, particularly in GP surgeries and other medical environments we work in. For many of our clients, we’ve upped the volume of cleaning, including regular deep cleans and the cleaning of touchpoints such as light switches throughout the day.”

In response to the events of 2020, the cleaning franchise also made some changes to the support it offered its franchisees.

“We were on hand to help them through the complex process of furloughing staff and formulating claims to HMRC.

“As we head into 2021, we have plans to help franchisees hit the ground running. We’ve introduced a royalty-free growth scheme for the year. That means we will not charge our usual fee on any new business our franchisees win until the end of December 2021.”

So, what does Mike look for in his franchisees? People skills and the ability to communicate with everyone is key. Plus, candidates should be resilient and committed to seeing success. But you don’t need any experience in commercial cleaning, as the franchise provides a tailored training scheme.

“Perhaps the most telling fact is that 100 percent of franchisees renew their franchise agreements. They now only seem to leave us to retire.”
