HomeXperts sponsored a local awards ceremony to celebrate local people who have done exceptional things.

HomeXperts Burton upon Trent has been lending its support to a local award that was set up to celebrate fantastic people in the community. The Burton hero awards, which was established to recognise people who have done amazing things in times of crisis or emergency, gave out a number of awards to people in the local area.

The winner of the ‘Great Neighbour’ award, Jason McInulty, was praised for his quick thinking and actions after a neighbour became trapped under his car. After hearing the screams, McInulty and another neighbour sprung into action and grabbed their car jacks, managing to raise the car enough so that the man could breathe properly. The actions of the two saved the man’s life and he was able to escape with just minor injuries.

One of the sponsors for the awards was HomeXperts Burton Upon Trent, a franchise of the celebrated estate and lettings agency, which was established in 2017 by Chris Wood and Alexandra Muresan. A spokesperson for HomeXperts said that the firm was incredibly excited to lend its support to the award and thrilled that it was able to participate in an evening that showed “how special this town is”.

Runners up included taxi driver Ali Raza, who provided medical assistance to a teenage boy who suffered a serious fit in the back of his cab and refused to take a fare after dropping him home safely, and Stuart Bacon, who helped transport a woman in labour to hospital during the deadly ‘beast from the east’ snowstorms.

HomeXperts has won Gold in the Best Estate Agency Franchise in both 2014 and 2015 at The Sunday Times awards, showing its business model is one that’s worth celebrating too.
