Driver Hire oversees handover

Driver Hire has helped one of its oldest franchisees sell his successful business.
Driver Hire Chelmsford’s owner, David Quinn, has handed over the reigns to a new and ambitious individual. After years of running operations successfully at the South East England branch, Pascal Giraud will take over from Quinn to become Driver Hire’s newest franchisee.
Originally from Paris, Giraud has lived in the UK for more than three decades, making his living in the high-pressured world of the City as a bond broker. In his spare time, he decided to take his HGV driving test to fulfil a lifelong dream and tick something off his bucket list and managed to pass a few years ago. So, when the time came for Giraud to leave the stress of the City behind him, he happened upon another Driver Hire franchisee from Uxbridge who had a similar background and decided to investigate the prospect of becoming his own boss.
Giraud explained how he didn’t take the decision to enter the world of franchising lightly and waited patiently until the perfect opportunity came along.
“I worked for a couple of major food companies for a few months and that gave me time to think about my next career. The opportunity to buy Driver Hire Chelmsford came along at just the right time. It’s a well-established, well-run business and there is plenty of space to take it further. I’m really excited by the prospect of running my own Driver Hire franchise.”
He expressed his excitement at the prospect of running his very own branch of the successful logistics recruitment franchise and explained how he plans to carry on the successful legacy of previous owner Quinn by retaining his core team.
“They’ve been highly successful and I wanted to ensure that existing customers enjoyed a seamless handover of ownership.”
Graham Duckworth, Franchise Sales Director at Driver Hire, extended a warm welcome to Giraud, saying:
“We wish Pascal well and look forward to supporting and helping him develop his Driver Hire franchise business.”
With more than 30 years’ experience in the franchising sector, Driver Hire has grown into one of the leading providers of permanent and temporary drivers to cover for illness or seasonal demand.
