The 12th September 2017 marked the first-year anniversary as Driver Hire franchisees for Tony Goacher (Croydon) and Andy O’Donnell (Nottingham). Tony was a member of the Driver Hire senior management team before he decided to buy his own franchise and becoming his own boss. After seven years working for Driver Hire and witnessing first-headedly the benefits of building a successful franchise, he knew owning a Driver Hire franchise would provide the perfect work-life balance and financially security he was seeking for him and his family.

Andy may be a Driver Hire newcomer but he is not new to running successful businesses. With over thirty years of senior management under his belt, he brings an impressive body of skills and experience in sales, sales and operations into his new Driver Hire franchise.

Driver Hire’s Carlisle franchise welcomes new owner Marc Harrison. Prior to taking the leap into business franchise ownership, Marc was a member of Driver Hire’s head office franchise support team. “I joined Driver Hire four years ago and absolutely love the business.” says Marc. He adds, “Because I was working closely with Driver Hire franchises across the UK I’ve learnt a lot about operating one and seen the massive opportunities to develop a really worthwhile business. When the opportunity to buy Carlisle came along I felt it was the right time to become my own boss.”

Driver Hire specialises in the supply of staff to the road transport and logistics industry and is one of the UK’s longest established and highly regarded franchisors with an expanding network of 100 offices. Driver Hire franchisees provide temporary and permanent drivers, logistics staff to both businesses and organisations and extra staff to cover holidays, illnesses and business expansion. “Driver Hire’s proven business model enables me to offer an in-depth range of recruitment services to local businesses. The back-up, systems and support offered by a Driver Hire franchise are almost unrivalled and give me every opportunity to grow a successful business, serving the needs of local employers and candidates alike.” says Marc.

Graham Duckworth, Driver Hire Franchise Sales Director, welcomes Marc: “I’m delighted that Marc has joined the Driver Hire network. When one of our support team buys a franchise it’s a great endorsement of the potential of a Driver Hire franchise. His previous experience in franchise support coupled with his enthusiasm and drive will ensure he’s able to capitalise on the many opportunities to grow the business in Carlisle and be a highly successful franchisee.”
