Arran was a driven entrepreneur from an early age, and he recently shared his ChipsAway journey with the franchise, celebrating 20 years in business.
As ChipsAway detailed in a recent press release, Arran was always destined for life as his own boss. The van based franchise explained, “Having always been interested in working on cars, Arran decided to investigate options outside of traditional employment that would enable him to turn his hobby into a job. He came across ChipsAway and decided to explore the idea of franchising in greater detail.”
Arran found that franchising was a great way of becoming a business owner safely. He loved cars, and as a born entrepreneur, “it seemed a natural choice and pathway to pursue”. Arran described the training process with a great amount of fondness, saying, “When I got started it was both exciting and nerve wracking. ChipsAway is a very professional organisation when it comes to branding and marketing, and we are able to make great use of the internet – having social media and smartphones at my disposal has been integral to helping me build up my customer network.”
Arran scaled up his ChipsAway business at a pace, and was soon ready to purchase a second franchise territory to expand his network. He said of this successful journey to growth, “Starting a new business is not easy – it takes time to build up your reputation. [...] I did initially find it difficult to switch off from thinking about the business at nights and at weekends – you feel complete responsibility for it. But over time I was able to be more comfortable with that. Golf helps a lot to take my mind off things!” These days,
Arran loves being able to set his own schedule and arrange his own time.
Arran also has some huge plans for the future, and his 20 year anniversary with the brand only has him thinking even more about what comes next. He said, “I would like to expand my unit in the future. I can certainly see the benefits of having a Car Care Centre so I could juggle more than one job at once, so watch this space.” If you’d like to begin your own journey of expansion and success with ChipsAway, you can find out more about the van based franchise via its profile page, linked above.
