Bartercard has donated valuable points to the UK charity Breast Cancer Now.
The business franchise has played its part in the organisation’s latest awareness campaign. Thanks to the efforts of the West Ham United women’s team, Breast Cancer Now has been in the headlines in recent weeks. The football team has worked closely with the charity over the past two years to raise awareness of the signs of breast cancer, as well as funds for research.
In support of Breast Cancer Awareness month, which runs from October 1st to 31st, the Barclays FA Women’s Super League side sported pink shirts. All profits generated through the limited-edition tops were donated to Breast Cancer Now. So far, the club has collected £23,167.65 for the charity.
Now, Bartercard has confirmed its support of the organisation by donating more than 46,000 trade points. These credit notes are designed to be used across the bartering business to swap goods and gather additional funds. The business franchise’s generous efforts should help Breast Cancer Now finance life-saving research.
Managing Director West Ham United women’s team, Jack Sullivan, was also pleased to be able to support the charity. He said,
“During what has been a difficult year for everyone, it fills me with joy and pride to see how the West Ham United family has once again come together to support such a worthwhile cause in Breast Cancer Now.
“For the second season in a row, we have been able to use our status to help generate vital funds for their continued research efforts, while also raising much-needed awareness around the signs of breast cancer.”
We would also like to remind both women and men to check themselves regularly for the signs of breast cancer. Find out more about the symptoms and current research by heading to the Breast Cancer Now website.
