Bartercard is looking forward to upcoming sports matches, as it’s teamed up with Canterbury Rugby League in New Zealand.
This time last year, the games were put on hold until June; in 2021, the club campaign will kick off in its usual early-April timeslot. The opening match took place on Saturday 10th April, marking the first of 14 regular-season rounds. The league should pull to a close on Sunday 15th August; Grand Final Day at Ngā Puna Wai.
The Round One line-up includes two matches at Ngā Puna Wai: Halswell Hornets v Papanui Tigers and Eastern Eagles v Celebration Lions. Plus, Hornby Panthers will play Riccarton Knights, and there will be a Grand Final replay between Linwood Keas and Northern Bulldogs at Canterbury Park.
Andrew Auimatagi, the New Era Glazing Canterbury Bulls coach, gave his thoughts on the season ahead:
“I’m expecting the Bulldogs to continue their momentum of the last few years - they’ve become a good challenger at the top there. But also Halswell Hornets, I think with Walter [Wilson] coming in [as coach] and also some good recruitment, those guys will probably be among the movers and shakers.”
Bartercard has worked with the Canterbury Rugby League for the past two decades. Its CEO, Duane Fyfe, has previously spoken about how much he appreciates the business franchise’s support of grassroots community games.
Bartercard runs a business membership platform allowing people to trade without the use of cash. Since its launch in 1991, it has developed a network of 75 offices and 5,000 cardholders around the world.
The successful business is currently on the lookout for new investors, who could stand to generate up to £80,000 in revenue after two years in operation. If you’re interested in getting involved, take a look at its profile page, linked above.
