The history of Miss Millie’s fried chicken

Miss Millie’s is a chicken franchise like no other. Every restaurant - of which there are currently 11, with 10 more in the pipeline for 2022 - uses Grade A farm-assured chicken, coated in a secret seasoning recipe created by Colonel Sanders’ grandson. The menu is filled with delicious dishes, from the chicken fried to perfection to the gourmet burgers, loaded fries and classic desserts like apple pie and ice cream. When a customer is looking for quick service, great value and amazing food, they turn to Miss Millie’s.

The brand started its journey into being way back in 1988. Miss Millie’s founder, Harry Latham, had introduced KFC to the UK with his business partner Ray Allen in the 60s, becoming Managing Director of KFC UK in the 70s. But in 1988, Harry left KFC to establish Miss Millie’s. In fact, Millie herself is named after the Colonel’s daughter, Mildred.

Miss Millie’s continued to be owned by the Latham family until very recently, in 2019, at which time it was bought by a company already operating in the restaurant sector. 2020 marked the start of an exciting rebrand for the fast food brand featuring a redesigned logo, redesigned restaurants and a management overhaul - all spearheaded by Managing Director Carl Traill, a former Director of Operations at Burger King UK. If you’d love to get on board with this growing franchise just off the back of its exciting rebrand, you can!

As Miss Millies enters an exciting new era, with a new look, new menu, new restaurants, and a new leadership team, we are perfectly placed to expand our awesome brand, whilst always remaining true to our heritage. - Carl Traill, Miss Millie’s Managing Director
