Promedica24 offers a lockdown lifeline

Promedica24 client Carolyn Sigley has praised the services of her live-in carer during a potentially isolating and risky time.

Many of the UK’s vulnerable people have faced a difficult choice during the Covid-19 pandemic: go without their care services and struggle on alone or continue having carers visit and risk contracting the virus. However, Carolyn Sigley, from Poynton, Cheshire, has said that live-in carer Krystina from senior care franchise Promedica24 has been a lifesaver.

Carolyn, who has a degenerative health condition, was unable to see family due to shielding restrictions. However, with Krystina around 24/7, she was still able to have the care and companionship needed to keep her physically and mentally well, without the risk of carers coming and going every day. Speaking about the bond the pair have built, Carolyn said:

“I love spending time with Krystina from Promedica24. She has lived with me for the last three years, for a period of eight weeks at a time and then goes home for a break. I then have another care worker, but I always look forward to Krystina coming back.”

The duo have filled their days in the house with plenty of activities, including embroidery, cooking, watching TV, going for walks and playing word games. Carolyn has been able to maintain a sense of independence in her own home, without the isolation many have sadly experienced over the last few months.
