Pizza Hut announces sales increase
The Pizza giant, Pizza Hut UK, has announced a 3% sales increase on the previous year. The group, however, saw pre-tax profits fall 40% which was blamed in part to increased franchising and staffing costs.
The fast food franchise said the increase in sales was evidence of the benefit of the extensive refurbishment programme which was initiated in 2012 by new owners, Rutland Partners. The restaurant refurbishment programme was part of a £60m investment which will see improvements to a total of 190 outlets by the end of the year. The group believes that the sales growth is only the start, stating that they project increases in 2017 and 2018.
Adrian Walker, Pizza Hut UK’s director said: “The refurbishment programme has brought a more contemporary design to the restaurants while also capturing the essence of our American heritage. Our well proven approach to the refurbishment programme has ensured that we continue to develop and evolve our restaurant design. The return on investment is well ahead of target and guest experience surveys are showing significant increase in overall satisfaction, value for money and intent to revisit within the next three months.”
