It’s Not A Bird Nor An Airplane, It’s A Coffee-Copter

On the 25th September 2017 Costa Coffee in Dubai completed a successful drone delivery trial in response to a growing demand. Costa Coffee took on a unique trial service in Dubai after 82% of its UAE customers expressed they would very much enjoy a drone drop delivery of Costa Coffee products. The Coffee-Copter hovered over Costa’s Jumeirah’s Beach drive thru delivering beverages from the new Frostino and Cold Brew range.

Costa Coffee UAE Head of Marketing, Shemaine Jones comments: “Dubai is known for leading the way with innovative technology and drones are the next frontier for instant delivery. Our customers told us they’d love to have their favourite drinks dropped off by drones, so we’re super excited to have successfully tested this service, enabling beach-goers to enjoy ice cold beverages without leaving the comfort of their sun loungers”.

As a preview of what the very near future holds for instant delivery, the Kite Beach area Costa Coffee patrons were given the rare opportunity to experience having their Costa’s orders delivered to them instantly. Costa Coffee’s skilled baristas worked their magic to create delicious beverages that would be delivered within 15 minutes by specially engineered drones directly to their patrons.
