Cash Converters franchisees have taken on an incredible challenge to mark more than a decade of fundraising.
A trio of superstars from Cash Converters took on a gruelling 510-mile bike ride to raise money for a children’s charity and celebrate 10 years of fundraising. Franchisees Richard Addison, Carl Murray and Paul Graham (from Cash Converters’ largest franchisee Capital Cash) took on the difficult route from Mizen Head to Malin Head in Ireland in aid of Dreams Come True, a charity which aims to help seriously ill children realise their wishes.
Their incredible feat of endurance wasn’t the only event that Cash Converters used to raise money, as the second-hand retail franchise also ran a raffle in each of its stores. Customers were able to buy tickets for £2 a go and were entered into a draw for some incredible prizes. Although Cash Converters had set itself an ambitious £25,000 target, it managed to smash its goal and raise an incredible £50,000 for Dreams Come True.
The Cash Converters trio has previously taken on other charity challenges, including cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats in 2014 (which saw them raise a phenomenal £80,000), along with rides to Paris and Oxford. Murray said they were thrilled to have completed the challenge, adding: “I am delighted we raised an amazing £50,000 for such a deserving charity. Our original target was to raise over £25,000 and we exceeded this by some distance with the help of the Cash Converter’s franchisees across the UK. Dreams Come True is a wonderful charity that fulfils the dreams of terminally ill children and is a charity that is close to my heart. We plan further adventures to raise funds too, so watch this space for our next challenge.”
Since partnering with Dreams Come True more than 10 years ago, Cash Converters has raised over £400,000 for the charity, which has allowed it to fulfil more than 200 dreams. It plans to continue raising money for the charity in the future to allow more children to see their wishes come to life.
Tony Richardson, Cash Converters’ Managing Director, said how proud the company was to be supporting the charity: “Dreams Come True is a charity we hold very dear as it creates life-long memories for very special children and their families.”
