World Options has been sharing its top tips on how businesses can ship their goods for a more affordable price.
Courier and delivery franchise World Options has been sharing the ways that businesses can save on costly shipping fees. As a courier services provider on behalf of some of the world’s leading shipping companies, it knows all too well how costly sending goods can be if you’re not strategic about it.
The first tip it offered was to plan ahead when sending goods, allowing you to select economy delivery options that will still arrive by the date your customer is expecting them. This will save you pounds each time you ship goods, which can add up over time. If you’re shipping internationally, World Options also advised opting for sea freight rather than air freight, as it can take more time but will save even more money. This is why it’s so important to plan ahead, as you’ll pay a serious premium for last-minute delivery.
Another tip World Options gave was to take photographs of your goods before shipping them, including the weight and tape measurements to prove how heavy and large your items are. This will protect you in the event of a dispute with your courier or if you’re wrongly charged more because your parcel has been inaccurately weighed. To make sure you don’t pay more, invest in accurate scales too, as then you’ll know exactly how much you need to pay.
If you send high-value goods, World Options advises taking out insurance to protect yourself in case they get lost. Finally, it also advises choosing a shipping specialist that deals with multiple carriers, meaning you’re not tied to the same carrier each time and miss out on the best rates.
