Wok & Go has opened its first branch in the popular tourist area of the Algarve, Portugal
Popular noodle bar franchise Wok&Go is looking forward to the prospect of future European expansion following the successful opening of its first branch in Portugal. Its first location in the country opened on the 3rd of July in the Vila Nova De Portimão, Faro, Portugal and the first day of business was a busy one as locals and tourists alike queued up to get a taste of its delicious food.
Des Pheby, Wok&Go’s founder, signed a lucrative franchise agreement with BrandPlus, which will see it act as a master franchisee in the country. Wok&Go has ambitious plans for Portugal, with more than 20 stores planned across the country for the next decade. It will open its next location in Lisbon in August.
Commenting on the exciting partnership, Pheby said:
“We are very excited to start this journey abroad and introduce our passion for Asian-fusion food to the people of Portugal."
Pedro Martins, the experienced Algarve franchisee who has more than 22 years of experience working in the hospitality industry, expressed his delight at the franchise agreement.
“I’m a big noodle fan myself. A few months ago, I had a conversation with João Lucas from BrandPlus and he suggested Wok&Go. I’m so glad I looked into it, as I received very good training and support and I’m incredibly happy with the final result. I think Wok&Go has a big future and I’m proud to be part of it.”
Wok&Go now has more than 20 branches across the UK and is steadily growing year on year. It has an international presence in countries including Dubai and now Portugal and is now hoping to take its concept to other countries across the globe.
Proud of his company’s roots, Phiby added:
“We are still independent and based in Chester. I'm very proud of Wok&Go being born and bred in this beautiful Roman city.”
