The parent company of Wok&Go and Crepe Delicious has announced an ambitious new expansion project in the UK.
Pheby Food Concepts Ltd will lead the growth of a number of different franchise businesses across the restaurant sector in the next seven years. The Chester-based food group has plans to launch 100 new Wok&Go stores with a total of 800 employees. It’s also adding 25 new Crepe Delicious outlets to its portfolio, with a workforce of 200 people.
The pizza brand Dough Dough will also introduce three additional restaurants and 60 new staff members. In total, Pheby Food Concepts Ltd will be opening 128 new franchise units and creating jobs for 1,060 people. Founder Des Pheby said,
“This year has been tough for so many businesses, with hospitality among the sectors worst hit. It’s therefore extremely exciting for us as a hospitality group to be ending 2020 on such a high, with job creation and expansion on the horizon both short and long term.”
During the year, Pheby Food Concepts has worked hard to develop ‘dark kitchens’, where businesses can create food to be delivered to customers or collected on-site. By creating these spaces for both its own brands and other hospitality businesses, the parent company has been able to continue growing throughout the pandemic. Des continued,
“Now more than ever it is important to offer takeaway options. Creating a situation for your customers where they can order, collect and enjoy their food with the minimal amount of human contact possible is a vital selling point at this moment in time.”
