Italian wine bar franchise Veeno has taken part in a campaign to help raise funds for the humanitarian charity’s life-saving work.
In 2019, Veeno was one of the 300 restaurants and diners that supported Action Against Hunger and joined the Love Food Give Food campaign. The bar chain and its customers united to help vulnerable children from across the globe have a brighter future.
Love Food Give Food takes place between 1st September and 31st October and everything from small, independent eateries to large restaurant groups take part. There’s scope for the latter to raise over £3,000!
All restaurants have to do is distribute small table cards that let customers know a donation of £1 will be added to their bill (and can be easily removed), so it couldn’t be easier. This can provide a day’s supply of food to a malnourished child.
Since 2008, over 2,000 restaurants have taken part in the fundraiser, £3 million has been raised to save the lives of malnourished children and 120,000 emergency kitchen kits were provided with those funds. Last year, over 21 million people were helped in almost 50 countries.
Veeno ran the scheme in all of its branches and is planning to run the campaign again later this year.
The UK-based wine bar business offers customers authentic Spuntini, cheese and meat platters, and pizzas, as well as great wine. It also runs a popular a wine-tasting experience that has been very popular with customers.
