Along with these extras, they are fitted with blackout curtains and have a ‘dream-light’ colour scheme of blues and greys to help customers enjoy a restful night’s sleep.Customers can also choose between soft and firm hypoallergenic pillows.
The first Travelodge hotels to offer this new room were in London. Thanks to the success, they are testing the SuperRooms in Manchester, York and Edinburgh.
Peter Gowers, CEO of Travelodge, explains how the future looks for the franchise. He says, “despite the uncertainty caused by Brexit and economic pressures, the budget hotel market remains attractive.”
He goes on to discuss how Travelodge is progressing its network, stating, “We are extending our network to put us where our customers want to be, and rolling out our premium economy SuperRooms, while creating hundreds of new jobs across the country”.
Travelodge has plans to open 20 new hotels in 2018, which will bring 1,900 more rooms for people in the UK to stay in. Together, these hotels have an equivalent investment value of £240 million. With these new hotels in place, Travelodge’s SuperRooms total will reach 1,400.
The hotel franchise currently has 540 properties across the UK, Spain and Ireland. It employs more than 10,000 people and welcomes approximately 18 million customers every year.
One of the most well-known hotel brands in the UK, Travelodge has quality standards that every franchise must reach, ensuring that all the rooms meet customers’ expectations. The company has heavily invested in this design, spending £100 million on the franchise’s modernisation programme, which included giving the rooms the Travelodge Dreamer king-sized beds.
