Transworld Business Advisors is celebrating four decades of success this year.
Transworld Business Advisors, the leading business brokerage and development franchise, is celebrating its 40th birthday this year and CEO Andy Cagnetta has been reflecting back on the company’s history.
Transworld was formed in the early 1980s by Sidney Bleich, a businessman who transformed the company from a real estate business into a successful business brokerage. After his death, Don and Bonnie Parish took over and began to take the company in an even more ambitious direction. Andy Cagnetta walked into the branch as a customer one day in 1994 and was recruited by the pair. He ultimately became co-owner and took over operations fully by the late 1990s. Reflecting back on how far the business has come, Cagnetta revealed:
"At that time, we had a staff of only seven and 35 businesses for sale, we shared one computer, and we thought we were cutting edge because we had a fax machine."
He added that in the early days, the only way to make contacts with clients was via telephone, but said that technology has revolutionised how easy it is to connect with both buyers and sellers.
"Web advertising and social media bring in clients from around the world," said Cagnetta. "I believe today's technology makes buyers much more knowledgeable about their ability to compare deals and make informed decisions about purchases."
Cagnetta said that he feels the secret to the business franchise’s success has been its ability to remain consistent in its approach and brand values. Cory Hibbard, Director of Operations for Transworld Business Advisors, added:
“We rely on good people to make good deals. That's the bottom line, and that's why we are successful."
In 2010 Transworld Business Advisors entered into a joint venture with United Franchise Group and began recruiting franchisees to join its business. It now has an incredible 180 offices spanning 15 countries and is looking forward to continued success in the future.
CEO of United Franchise Group, Ray Titus, congratulated the company on 40 years of success.
“The company has the ability to match a person with the ideal business franchise based on experience, investment and interests," he said. "We certainly congratulate Andy and his entire team for their extraordinary accomplishments and unparalleled dedication to their clients."
