The Zip Yard stitches up school worries

The Zip Yard has been offering its quick and professional services to whip uniforms into shape before the start of the new term.
With back-to-school season in full swing, many parents will have had last minute uniform nightmares. Maybe their clumsy children knocked a button off their blazer just trying it on or haven’t quite grown into their new kit as expected. But for parents in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, The Zip Yard was on hand to make sure every child started off the new term looking smart.
Thanks to its incredibly popular ‘pop grip’ promotion, which saw every child receive a free smartphone gadget with their uniform alternation, owner Shama Perveen has seen one of her busiest back-to-school seasons yet. Late August saw her booked up with last minute alterations and she speculated that the gorgeous weather might have been the culprit for the last-minute rush.
“We’ve had such a lovely summer this year that people are making the most of the last few days of the school holidays and have put off shopping for new uniform until as late as possible.”
However, the clothing franchise maintained its one-hour express service despite the mounting orders. That meant that small alterations such as hems, buttons and zips were completed within an hour, restoring the garments back to their full glory.
Although many of its customers need new items altered to fit a little better, The Zip Yard also encourages its customers to up-cycle their clothes whenever they can. Its skilled seamstresses can breathe new life into tired garments by transforming them into something completely different, like turning a frumpy dress into a fashionable skirt.
Founded in 2005, The Zip Yard specialises in fast and reliable tailoring services and aims to offer a 48-hour turnaround period to the majority of its clients. It has more than 56 stores across the UK and Ireland and is aiming to continue its growth with even more new and ambitious franchisees.
