Daren Moore FCCA becomes Group Managing Director, Sarah Robertson becomes Group Director and the UK Managing Director, while TaxAssist Franchisee Mike Melling is appointed as new Group Development Director.

After 22 years at the helm of The TaxAssist Direct Group – which includes the TaxAssist franchise in the UK, Ireland, Australia and North America – Karl Sandall has stepped down as Group Chief Executive Director along with Phil Sullivan, Group Finance Director, who has been with the business for 14 years.

They are now embarking on new roles as non-executive directors and will be advising and supporting the Executive Director Team. This comes after Karl and Phil sold a large percentage of their shares, resulting in franchisees taking ownership of almost 60% of The TaxAssist Direct Group Ltd.

Daren Moore FCCA becomes Group Managing Director, and will oversee the entire Group operation, expansion and development of the franchise and various client services. Sarah Robertson becomes Group Director and UK Managing Director and will be focused on looking after all aspects of support provided to the UK network. James Mattam continues in his role as Group Business Development Director, focusing on driving client acquisition across all Group companies.

TaxAssist Accountants franchisee Mike Melling has been appointed as Group Development Director, a role he will undertake while continuing to operate his highly successful multi-site franchise in Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. Mike is also a director and investor in TaxAssist Direct USA Inc and in the soon to be launched TaxAssist Financial Services.

Daren said: “I would like to thank Karl and Phil for the tremendous energy, enthusiasm, dedication and professionalism they have both brought to The TaxAssist Group over the last two decades, helping to make it the global success story it is today.

“I would also like to thank our fantastic franchise network in all of the countries we operate, who have provided the ultimate vote of confidence in us as a board and the TaxAssist business model, by choosing to invest in the TaxAssist Direct Group, which we believe to be the first of its kind in franchising.

“With a focused strategic plan with growth and innovation at its core, the evolution of the TaxAssist brand, and the addition of relevant products and services, as a team of directors, we have never felt more positively about the medium-term future and the opportunities it will present for our Group operations.

“We look forward to working with the TaxAssist Support Teams and franchisees across the world to exceed our plans and share in the fruits of that success.”
