The Little Gym has been recognised in the 2019 Franchise 500® ranking by Entrepreneur.

The league table, created by Entrepreneur Magazine, lists the 500 most impressive franchises of the year. Franchisors are asked to complete an online form with details of their franchise, before they are given a cumulative score, which takes into account the company’s size and growth, costs and fees, support, financial stability and brand strength.

2019 marked the 40th edition of the Franchise 500 ranking, which has been running since 1980. With more than 1,000 franchises applying to be featured on the table, the list is very competitive, and a good score is extremely impressive.

Entrepreneur’s Editor-in-Chief, Jason Feifer explained, “As we celebrate 40 years of producing the Franchise 500, it’s a good opportunity to step back and look at how much has changed since that first ranking in 1980. While the franchise business model has changed little, the strongest franchise brands are constantly evolving and innovating to keep up with changing trends and technology.”

The Little Gym, which was founded by Robin Wes in 1976 and supports the physical development of children from four months to 12 years old, celebrated Entrepreneur’s recognition of their franchise.

Not only identified as the 118th best company in the ranking, the gym franchise also triumphed in the Children’s Fitness Programs category, being recognised as the number one children’s fitness franchise, beating Aqua-Tots Swim Schools, which ranked 145th out of the 500 and My Gym Children’s Fitness Center, which ranked 158th.

Alex Bingham, President and CEO of The Little Gym, said, “We want to thank and share this recognition with each and every one of our franchise owners who play an enormous role in shaping and growing The Little Gym into the globally admired brand it has become.”
