The Christmas Decorators replaces stolen wreaths

The Christmas Decorators has stepped in to replace two wreaths, after they were stolen from the famous Strawberry Field gates in Liverpool.

When the Salvation Army site revealed the crime on Facebook, they said,

“Our lights may be dimmed but we aren’t; we are still here, spreading love and joy this Christmas.”

Dozens of people were quick to offer their sympathies on social media, describing the event as “disgraceful” and “shameful”. But the local Christmas decorating franchise branch, based in Hunts Cross and owned by Nick and Sarah Bolton, was able to restore the gates to their former glory.

Nick said,

"We were highly disappointed that someone would take the wreaths from such an iconic place in our city. We have had many locals contacting us asking us if there was any way we could help, as many people have been left upset by the news."

The generous franchisees went one step further than replacing the wreaths; they installed a huge, 25ft Christmas angel complete with 25,000 lights.

The Christmas Decorators’ CEO, Adele Gregson, said,

"We're very disappointed that someone would steal not one, but both Christmas wreaths from Strawberry Field. These wreaths bring a lot of joy every year. We’re installing the giant angel for them as a gift of thanks in a difficult year for Strawberry Field and to bring happiness to all of the visitors who come to the gates."

Pleased with the new decorations, the Salvation Army is now calling out to those who stole its original wreaths. The organisation said,

"To the people who took our wreaths and all others driven to desperate measures in these desperate times, if you need our support, our gates are open to you. Come and speak to us. We would like to help."
