Since joining the TaxAssist Accountants network, Paul Simpson has exceeded all his business plan expectations to build a hugely successful practice in just 15 months.
Paul Simpson began his TaxAssist journey in May 2021 by opening his shop at 114 St Mary's Road, in Market Harborough, which has gone on to make a positive impact on his local community as a result of his enthusiasm, energy and mission to ‘Help small business owners realise their dream’.
“We are fast approaching the 200 clients milestone and have recently received our 50th Google My Business Review,” explained Paul. “It’s always satisfying when clients let you know you’ve done a good job.
“To top it off, we have been successful in winning the SME News Midlands Enterprise Awards 2022- Best Personal Accountancy Firm – East Midlands for the second year running and **also** winning the SME News UK Enterprise Awards 2022 Tax Advisor of the Year 2022 – Leicestershire.
“Much of my success is due to being so active within the local community,” said Paul. “We sponsored all of the volunteers at Market Harborough Carnival and had our logo on the back of all the Hi Viz jackets. We are also sponsoring Borough Alliance Midlands Junior Premier League team by providing the training kit. This is in addition to our ongoing sponsorship of Vipers Rugby Union Club and Kibworth Cricket Club. We also recently sponsored a car in the MG Car Club annual event at Silverstone and we won!
“I really enjoy networking and meeting with clients at my shop. It’s always enjoyable to learn more about the businesses in my community and being able to help and advise fellow small business owners on ways for them to grow and increase efficiencies.
"Running my business and working with the local community has been great fun and hard work but I'm enjoying every minute of it,” said Paul.
Such has been the demand for his practice’s service. Paul has taken on two members of staff, one of whom is an 18-year-old apprentice, who is already proving himself a valuable asset to the team.
Prior to joining the TaxAssist network, Paul had a successful career in financial services as a banker, IFA and Estate Planner spanning over 35 years, before selling his business in 2019 and retiring. However, so impressed was he when he came across TaxAssist Accountants, the small business tax and accounting franchise, he decided to come out of retirement.
