TaxAssist Accountants’ directors have shared new initiatives over a series of nine virtual meetings for its franchisees.

The accounting franchise organised the online events to update franchisees on the network’s developments, discuss future plans and collect feedback.

James Mattam, TaxAssist Accountants’ Group Business Development Director, explained:

“It was great to catch up with the network, and we’ve had productive questions and comments, plus some good feedback that has really highlighted how effective these events are.”

During the meetings, the team covered a range of relevant topics, including software management and the process of digitisation and automation, as well as HMRC’s Making Tax Digital scheme. Attendees also discussed client support and the franchise’s new ‘Business Insights’ service, which helps customers move past Covid-19 and look to the future.

The prospect of developing payroll and tax insourcing teams and rolling out new services covering inheritance, capital gains and personal tax were also up for discussion.

Plus, everyone was keen to discuss how the franchise could use effective marketing campaigns to capitalise on the rising number of businesses switching accountants.

Bari Singh, an Amersham-based franchisee who attended the South East meeting, said:

“The regional meeting was an eyeopener. I was particularly interested in ‘Business Insights’ to help clients.

“The overall takeaway for me, is that change is coming, but if we can work together and adapt and use the change to our advantage, there is a great opportunity to come out of what is an uncertain future, better than we went in.”
