Subway to launch two new stores in Surrey

Subway has announced plans to open two new branches in Surrey.
The sandwich franchise will take up two premises in Redhill and Leatherhead, offering locals affordable food options any time of day. In Redhill, it’s moving into a site previously used by a Millets store, which will close its doors on 6th March. It’s thought the outdoor clothing shop has terminated its rental agreement due to a disagreement over lease costs, but Subway is looking forward to bagging the lucrative spot on the High Street.
In Leatherhead, 10 miles away, Subway is taking over a former Starbucks branch. This high-footfall location is sure to attract a swathe of customers; and Subway will be in good company, as there’s already a Greggs and a Costa Coffee in the area.

A spokesperson for Subway shed a little more light on this Leatherhead franchise unit:
“We’re pleased to confirm that a new Subway restaurant is set to open in Leatherhead on Wednesday 18th March, creating 10 new jobs. It will be a Fresh Forward format with a capacity of up to 24 seats. The new franchise owner looks forward to welcoming customers to the new restaurant very soon."
Subway’s expansion comes after the release of its new Meatless Meatball Marinara sub, which emulates its signature meaty sandwich. By catering to the growing vegetarian and vegan population, Subway is increasing its reach and income potential.
The new Surrey stores are just two of many Subway branches to be launched in 2020. As the brand continues to attract an impressive customer base, the franchise will be looking for more investors to open up stores in untapped territories.
