Subway slashes sub prices

Subway’s UK locations are taking part in the ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme, meaning its customers who are happy to eat in can snap up some tasty discounts.

More than 1,390 of the sandwich franchise’s stores have signed up to the government incentive and will now be allowing fans of its delicious sandwiches to pick up a bargain sub. People who choose to eat in will be able to get 50% off their food, whether they’re in the mood for a decadent footlong, mouth-watering snack, like nachos or meatballs, or a sweet treat such as its signature cookie.

The discount does have a limit. Each customer can only get a maximum of £10 off their order, so family-size savings are off the menu. However, there are still some great bargains to be enjoyed, including a filling footlong steak and cheese for £3.35, rather than the usual £6.69, or a simple turkey breast for £2.70. Drinks are also included in the offer, so you can wash down your sub with a refreshing cold drink or invigorating coffee for half the price.

Even if you’re not keen to sit in and enjoy your food, Subway has introduced a new price list to try and tempt customers back in. For the first half of August, many of its subs are half price. That means you can pick up a six-inch ham sub for just £1.49, or a decadent chicken pizziola for £2.14. If you prefer its signature loaded wraps, you can grab a Chipotle Southwest Steak & Cheese for just £2.99.

Starting the day with a Subway? There are discounts to be had early in the morning too. Even the filling Mega Melt, which is packed with sausage, bacon, egg and cheese, is just £1.35, while you can pick up a simple bacon, sausage or poached egg roll for a thrifty £1.05.
