Subway has started offering groceries in many of its American locations try help customers struggling to find fresh food.

Grocery stores across the world have been struggling to keep up with demand, as people stock up with essentials. Lots of people are also reluctant to leave their homes during the Covid-19 pandemic, as the illness can be devastating for the most vulnerable among us. Social distancing measures mean that many eateries have seen dramatic drops in customers, too.

So, Subway has introduced a brand-new ‘grocery’ option across more than 250 of its US locations, in states including California, Connecticut and Washington. As well as its tasty savoury and sweet treats, the sandwich franchise is now offering customers the chance to buy its sandwich ingredients on their own. They’ll be able to pick from its wide range of sliced meats, fresh vegetables and cheese, as well as pick up some of its submarine bread, to make their own sandwiches at home.

In a Facebook post on the newly-created Subway Grocery page, the franchise said:

**“Need groceries? Forget those other Insta-Fresh options with time slots days away. To support our communities and employees, Subway’s got a new grocery menu ready for contact-free, curbside pickup or delivery in just a few hours.”**

All customers need to do is go to subwaygrocery.com to make their selection. In a couple of clicks, they’ll have all of the tasty components of a healthy cold cut combo, Italian BMT or a Subway Club in the comfort of their own home. Unfortunately, the service isn’t available here in the UK, but the franchise is still serving its tasty treats to international customers for the time being.
