Subway searches for new seaside franchisees

Subway is on the lookout for new franchisees to take over two of its established franchises in Devon.
Sandwich fans in Devon could be in with the chance of owning their very own Subway franchise, as two very exciting re-sale opportunities have been announced.
The first store is in the beautiful seaside town of Ilfracombe in Northern Devon, which attracts thousands of tourists every year thanks to its quaint, shingle beaches and picturesque streets. The location in question boasts a double-fronted shop unit, which comes with the current Subway fit-out inside and plenty of trade inventory from the outgoing franchisee. This means that the opportunity has the potential to make its new owner money from day one, making it an attractive prospect for those who are interested in becoming a Subway franchisee but aren’t so keen on the hard work of establishing the branch as profitable.

If you’re based in South Devon, there’s also an exciting opportunity for you. Subway’s Teignmouth store is up for sale, which has plenty of internal and external seating for holidaymakers and locals alike. Its current opening hours are 8am – 6pm, seven days a week, but there’s scope for extended opening hours if the new owner of the sandwich franchise sees fit. The site is currently on the market for £29,950, which makes it a very affordable investment for local entrepreneurs.
Commenting on the Teignmouth resale opportunity for the sandwich franchise, Genevieve Stringer from commercial agents Bettesworths, said:
“The sale of this going concern Subway unit allows an operator to take over this franchise at a massively reduced ingoing premium. Should an operator wish to start up a new site, the initial outlay is as much as £150,000. I therefore expect there to be keen interest from the start.”
