Subway launches vegan treats

Subway has launched a tasty new option for vegetarians and even vegans to get stuck into.
Resturant franchise Subway has introduced a delicious new option to its ever-expanding menu, but this one is something a little different than the likes of the delicious Italian BMT, Chicken and Bacon Ranch or Meatball Marinara. The new addition is a 100% vegan choice, which is suitable for all vegetarian and vegan diners, and is bound to give sandwich fans who steer clear of animal products yet another tasty lunchtime option.
Subway Australia and New Zealand launched the new sandwich, which is a tempting plant-based falafel sub that can be topped with any combination of salad and dairy-free condiments, to try and offer more choice for meat-free guests as avoiding animal products continues to grow in popularity. Previously, vegan customers were limited to all veggie subs, but this new addition is bound to go down well with hungry diners looking for something more satisfying.
Subway’s director of marketing, Kate Brody, explained that the company’s Australian region debuted the new filling in response to more demand for plant-based options and as a way to add even more diversity to its menu. She added:
“We’re excited to hear directly from our guests so we can end up with a great balance between the classic Subway favourites, and on-trend, innovative flavours.”
Australian Subway fans aren’t the only ones being treated to new plant-based options, as diners in Finland can now enjoy the exclusive ‘vegan delite’. Made of a soy-based patty marinated in spicy sauce, it’s similar to a vegan steak and offers customers another tasty choice other than just vegetables. And, American customers can fill up with two vegan options, the Black Bean and Malibu Garden, from one of the 1000 Subways across the country.
