Subway has announced a campaign to help those suffering with a hangover after boozy festive events.

According to recent research, Friday 18th December was the most popular day for Christmas socials this year. Just under half of people in the UK planned to take part in a virtual drinks event on a video call, and many more intended to meet with others outside for a glass of something warming.

If these findings are correct, the UK is going to see the biggest collective hangover of the month today. But Subway is on-hand to help people soak up the alcohol. It’s launched its ‘Shattered Saturday SOS’ (Send Out Subs) campaign and, since Tuesday 15th, fans of the sandwich chain have been sharing their plans for the day on social media.

Meanwhile, the sandwich franchise has been selecting its favourite contributions and sending the lucky competition entrants a free sub of their choice through Deliveroo, Just Eat or Uber Eats.

Angelina Gosal, Subway’s Head of Marketing UK & Ireland, said,

“We want to be there to help guests suffering on Christmas Struggle Street this ‘Shattered Saturday’. Available for delivery straight to your door, to enjoy in the quiet of your own home, our fully customisable range of subs, wraps and salads means you can pick exactly what you’re craving!

“From comforting carbs to healthier options, Subway’s extensive range will satisfy everyone’s needs”.

With studies suggesting a huge number of us will have woken up with fuzzy heads this morning, Subway took action to prepare for today’s orders ahead of time. It expected to see a rise in brunch and lunch orders and, in particular, requests for its Mega Meat Sub, Meatball Marinara Sub and coffee.
