Sandwich franchise Subway could reopen one of its Norfolk locations next month as a new franchisee takes over.
The Subway located in Millers Walk in Fakenham has been closed since March due to the pandemic, much to the dismay of sub-lovers in Norfolk. But with plans for a new owner to purchase the sandwich franchise well under way, it could in fact reopen next month.
Lockdown restrictions started to lift across the UK in July. At this time, many food franchises, including Subway, started to reopen. However, the Subway in Fakenham remained closed.
Unsurprisingly, this resulted in many locals being uncertain about the chain’s future in the town. However, the brand has announced that the store was actually kept closed to allow for the sale to a new franchise owner.
A spokesperson for Subway said:
We can confirm that the Subway Store at 2 Millers Walk, Fakenham, is currently closed. The store is in the process of being sold to a new franchise owner and is expected to re-open in October once the process is complete.
Being the largest quick service food outlet in the world, Subway offers a very attractive franchise opportunity. It has over 2,500 stores in the UK and Ireland, and more than 43,000 in over 110 countries.
But its ambitious expansion plans aren’t over yet. It’s still on the lookout for hard working entrepreneurs in the UK who want to benefit from interactive online training courses, experienced development agents and ongoing support. Like what you see?
