Despite challenging market conditions, Subway has announced the launch of a new store in Maidstone, Kent.
The new branch will be located in Maidstone Mall shopping centre on the Bus Station Level next to McDonald’s and Hays Travel. It’s due to open its doors on Wednesday 2nd December, selling all the usual Subway favourites, including its full selection of wraps, salads and sharing platters. Customers can get their order delivered to their home via Uber Eats or collect it in-store.
Maidstone Mall’s Marketing Manager, Suzie Brindle, is thrilled with the new Subway location:
“It is a fantastic addition to our growing food court. We have been working closely with [the Subway] team to create a seamless opening on December 2nd and ensure our guests can enjoy freshly prepared sandwiches to take away in a safe environment.”
Senthooran Mathavarajah, the owner of the new sandwich franchise unit, said,
"We are delighted to open our brand-new restaurant at the Mall Maidstone, especially in the current climate. Our team has pushed ahead to be ready for the opening on December 2nd and we look forward to serving the people of Maidstone."
The new opening comes after Subway introduced contactless curbside pick-up at more than 11,000 participating stores in the US. Those in the mood for a sandwich or snack can order their chosen items on the franchise’s app or website and notify their local branch when they arrive outside. Then, an employee wearing gloves and a mask will give them their food on a tray.
Some Subway branches also allow customers to pick up their order inside the store, having set up designated collection areas to reduce the potential for infection.
