Snappy Tomato Pizza is setting up a new takeaway store in Wolverhampton city centre.

Plans have been approved for a takeaway store with two one-bedroom flats above, so fast food fans in Wolverhampton will soon be able to access Snappy Tomato Pizza’s delicious offering. The franchise is known for its unusual square pan pizzas and its legendary ‘party pizza’, ‘The Beast’. The business was launched in 1983 and also sells burgers, kebabs and chips.

The pizza franchise will set up its new outlet in a three-storey Victorian building in Worcester Street in the centre of Wolverhampton. The property used to house a motorcycle clothing shop called Silver Machine.

Once the Snappy Tomato Pizza franchise unit is set up, it will create three full-time and four part-time jobs for local people. The local council decided to approve Mr Baljit Singh Batiya’s application for the property as a way of supporting the local community and economy.

A spokesperson said,

"The proposals would create investment, employment opportunities and new housing at this important location."

The new Snappy Tomato Pizza location will open from 10am to midnight, Sunday to Thursday and 10am to 1am, Friday and Saturday.

Although there are no allocated parking spaces in the city-centre location, there’s room for bin storage to the rear of the property. The residents who move into the two flats above the pizza takeaway outlet will be able to access their homes via a new external staircase at the back of the building.

The back yard is within the boundaries of the Wolverhampton City Centre Conservation Area and has security lighting to discourage criminals. It also leads to Worcester Street through a shared pedestrian alleyway.
