Skechers announced it’s opening a store in Hull, the first standalone unit to appear in the city.
The shoe store franchise has announced it will be opening its doors in the Princes Quay shopping centre in late September, as it continues its unstoppable expansion across the UK.
Skechers, which sells a range of fashionable and sporty footwear, clothing and shoe accessories, has taken up a number of new units in 2018 and its Hull store is the latest to be announced. Confident that it will be a success with the city’s residents, the company has signed a 10-year lease in the shopping centre and hopes to become a favourite destination for footwear fans across the area.
Manager of Princes Quay, John Magee, expressed the centre’s delight at the new opening.
“Skechers is a huge worldwide brand and we’re delighted to welcome it to Hull. This is the first time it’s had a standalone store in the city and I’m sure it’ll be a huge success. It’s taking a prominent unit on Level Two of the centre, next to Beaverbrooks, opposite Monsoon, which integrates our outlet offering with the rest of the centre.”
The global retailer, which has over 2,500 stores in an incredible 170 countries around the world, will provide a welcome boost to the area by attracting plenty of attention from those keen to snap up footwear endorsed by the likes of Camila Cabello and Kelly Brook.
Mr Magee added that the new store demonstrates the positive impact of recent renovations to the area.
“Welcoming a major brand like Skechers to the scheme demonstrates the positive impact of the £20m investment in the centre, which included the development of our outlet offering and will continue with the pedestrian link to Hull Venue, which is progressing well.”
The footwear franchise has developed over 3,000 styles of shoes for men, women and children, bringing together style and comfort in its unique way.
