Scottish Bluebird Care celebrates a successful year

Bluebird Care Edinburgh and Glasgow South have cause for celebration after achieving ‘Excellent’ care ratings.

The inspection was carried out in December by the Care Inspectorate, the national regulator for care services in Scotland. The Edinburgh branch of Bluebird Care, which allocates carers to visit clients in their homes, was proud to be awarded a classification of ‘Excellent’ in the two categories in which the franchise was assessed - quality of care and support, and quality of staffing.

Bluebird Care was given no warning that the assessment would be taking place and after the evaluation was completed, representatives from the Care Inspectorate produced a detailed report of their findings, which included notes on the care franchise’s strengths and quotes from clients’ relatives.

The inspectors found that “care tasks were completed to a very high standard and in a very personal way” and that “staff completed regular refreshers in key topics to make sure they were up to date with best practice”.

In addition to this, the report stated: “Everyone spoke very highly of their carers. People were treated with respect and were confident staff had the skills to care for them.”

The Edinburgh branch works with 129 clients and is just one of five Bluebird Care franchises in Scotland. Its recent inspection classification reflects just part of the brand’s impressive performance in Scotland, with Bluebird Care Glasgow South also being awarded an ‘Excellent’ rating, extending the branch’s now five-year run of receiving the classification.
