Riverford offers hands-on cooking class
Local Exmouth residents can take part in Riverford’s cooking class to learn more ways of getting more veg into their diets.
As the nation seeks more ways to stay healthy, Riverford, an organic food retailer, hosted a cookery class to give people more inspiration for their greens. People of all ages were invited to attend the session to learn more about preparing and cooking vegetables to make them tasty and healthy at the same time.
Once they had all joined in to prepare the food from a box of diverse vegetables, they all ate what they had created, washed down with a class of organic wine or beer.
Budding cooks joined the event and found lots of new ways to prepare vegetables in interesting and tasty ways. Riverford believed the event would not only teach people new recipes but enable them to meet likeminded people in the community.
The session wasn’t just about discovering new recipes, it was also a chance for people to learn both basic and more advanced cooking skills. From properly preparing different vegetables to cooking them in clever ways that retains their flavour and nutrients, attendees learned skills that they can use for a huge number of recipes.
Each attendee paid £25 to attend, and if they ordered a Riverford box at the end they also took home a cookbook. The organic food retailer and distributor may hold more events like this one around the UK.
