Right at Home’s Nottingham South franchise was given the highest possible rating for its quality home care services.

Home care franchise Right at Home’s Nottingham South location has been recognised for its fantastic home care services by the industry’s regulator. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the healthcare industry’s regulatory body and ensures that GP surgeries, hospitals and other companies that provide healthcare services meet minimum standards for safety, patient care and leadership, among other criteria.

Right at Home’s compassionate staff were overwhelmed with emotion when they learned that their services had been rated ‘outstanding’ overall by inspectors. This shows that the care company is performing exceptionally well and exceeded the expectations of those who assessed it. The branch’s full rating breakdown included an ‘outstanding’ rating for how caring and well-led it was, with it picking up a ‘good’ rating in the safety, effectiveness and responsiveness categories.

Rob Assall-Marsden, Head of CQC Inspection for Adult Social Care in the region, explained why the care franchise deserved its overall outstanding rating.

“Every person we spoke to who used this service said that staff were very caring, treating them with dignity and respect. Staff showed empathy when supporting people who were coming to terms with changes in their health and mobility. Staff worked hard to find out what mattered to people, and they reflected this in care plans. One person was visited five times by staff to find out about their life history and interests. The service adopted this diligent approach as helping people engage with good memories has a positive impact on their health and wellbeing. We saw that the service’s leadership set the right priorities for staff, and it had effective processes in place to deliver excellent care.”

He added:

"People benefitted from the exceptional training staff received, and management proactively sought feedback from people and staff to shape the future of the service. Staff told us they worked for this service because of its commitment to putting people at the heart of their care. All of this meant people received a high standard of care, which is why it has been rated outstanding.”

Christopher Tansley, Managing Director of the Right at Home Nottingham South location, expressed his joy at the fantastic rating.

“Building the right team has been critical in our recent achievement and everyone has played their part here at Right at Home Nottingham. It was very emotional when we received the report knowing that our commitment and dedication to quality had now been recognised by the CQC. Personalised home support is an integral part of our trusted health service in the UK and our clients deserve nothing less.”
